Drug abuse is a global health problem.

Its effects on human health are corrosive and


compromise nutritional status. This paper based its research on nutritional biomarkers in drug
addicts who had not had nutritional counseling or treatment. The methodology was analytical,
observational and based on a convenience sample. the nutritional markers that were studied
in the blood were ASL, ALT, glucose, urea, creatinine, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol,
triglycerides and hemoglobin of 103 individuals who had already been diagnosed with some
behavior or mental disorder due to drug abuse and other psychoactive substances. The type of
drugs used were alcohol, cocaine, amphetamines, MDNA, opioids, marijuana and in the results
they found that the mean of hemogloin, total cholesterol, HDL and creatinine was statistically
different in gender and age.
