Research, Developments & Innovation

I refer to my letter of the 12th August 2010 concerning ‘Mutual exchange of information on
Research, Developments and Innovation’ and wish to thank all those who responded.

I presented all the information that was provided at the Council Meeting in December 2010
and undertook to edit it to enable the information to be provided to Members in a suitable
format. The attached schedule provides IALA Members with contact points for the mutual
exchange of research, developments and innovation information, and includes information
on Members which operate Research and Development facilities. I would be obliged if you
would ensure that the contact information is correct. If I have inadvertently omitted your
information or misinterpreted your information and it needs to be corrected or updated, this
can be done by contacting me or the Secretariat in IALA directly. I will arrange for the
schedule to be posted in the Members area of the IALA website

For those who didn’t respond, the opportunity is still open. The questions are included at the
top of the schedule and repeated here below.

1. Do you have a Research & Development Section in your organisation?

2. If yes, in what areas do you carry out Research & Development?

3. Would you be prepared to share R&D information with other IALA Members?

4. Would you be prepared to share information with IALA on developments in ICT in

your organisation?

5. Even if you don’t have an R&D Section in your organisation have you carried out any
recent developments or produced any new innovations which you would be prepared
to share with other IALA Members?
