WORKSHOP OF STRATIGRAPHY # 1- 2022-60

Make the geological reconstruction in a narrative-descriptive way, of the events

occurred represented in the following profiles, arranging them in the correct
stratigraphic chronostratigraphic order, make it in a narrative way, describing the
processes occurred in the exposed stratigraphic sequence, take into account the
lithostratigraphic symbols and convections, identify: geological structures present
indicating to which type they correspond (faults, folds), sedimentary cycles,
erosive surfaces; establish which stratigraphic principle applies. For the exercise to
be validated, the sequence must be correct in its integrity and have stratigraphic
logic.

EXERCISE 4:

In three different and distant locations, exploratory drilling was carried out, lifting
three stratigraphic sections represented in columns A, B and C respectively,
analyze the stratigraphic sections and determine:
A. Which units are coetaneous (Same age)?
B. Make the lithologic correlation, applying the principles of superposition, original
horizontality and lateral continuity.
C. Lift the generalized column representing the sedimentary registry of the
complete basin.
