Chief Medical Technologist

 The chief tech is in charge of directing the laboratory's overall quality


management system. oversee the execution of certain operations by other
medical technologists and technicians.
 Oversees and plans the work of personnel conducting bacteriologic, microscopic,
and chemical tests to gather information for use in illness diagnosis and therapy.
 Assigns employees to tasks and supervises the conduct of tests in the areas of
serology, chemistry, histology, hematology, and immunohematology.
 Makes purchases for or oversees purchases of supplies for lab equipment.
 Examines test results to ensure quality assurance.
 Plans, organizes and leads educational and training initiatives for medical
technology professionals.

Hematology Section Head


 To ensure the efficient running of the routine diagnostic hematology section,
effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external service users,
HSL customers and clients, equipment makers, and Laboratory staff on a daily
basis.
 In charge of producing high-quality scientific data for the Routine Diagnostic
Hematology Section and taking the initiative to help develop a comprehensive,
top-notch biosciences laboratory service in tandem with laboratory directors in
various fields, putting forward strategies for effective service delivery.
 To oversee and uphold the service's standards, as well as to offer assistance and
advise others on the necessary technical standards. This includes Investigating,
managing, and keeping track of occurrences in accordance with HSL policy and
in collaboration with the quality manager and RRL Manager are part of this.
 Consult the RRL manager and clinical head of services before implementing new
policies for the diagnostic hematology section, and suggest policy modifications
for other laboratory sections for the coordinated general improvement of service
delivery.
2. Job Description:

Chief Medical Technologist


Job Purpose:
The Chief Medical Technologist is accountable for the center's laboratory services'
overall management and operation.

Job Duties:
 Directs and coordinates the activity of individuals doing bacterial, microscopic,
and chemical tests in order to gather information for use in illness diagnosis and
therapy.
 Assigns tasks to employees and monitors test execution in the areas of histology,
hematology, immunohematology, and serology.
 Purchases or oversees the acquisition of supplies and equipment for laboratories.
to guarantee quality control, reviews test findings

Qualifications:
 Preferably with at least ten (10) years of related working experience

Competencies/Abilities
 Perform upkeep and troubleshooting on the lab's machinery.
 Extensive understanding of procedures for hematology, chemistry, blood banks,
microbiology, coagulation, and urine testing.
 Worked as a clinical laboratory scientist in a variety of operational roles within
the laboratories for molecular biology and clinical microbiology.

Working Conditions:
 Work indoors
 Exposed to pollutants, illnesses, and infections every day.
 May occasionally be subjected to distracting or uncomfortable noise levels.
Hematology Section Head

Job Purpose:
The Hematology Section Head is in charge of gathering and keeping up the materials
necessary to provide high-quality outcomes for the work parts designated as the Core
Laboratory.

Job Duties:
 To maintain knowledge about key advancements in scientific approaches and
make an effort to enhance current services and/or provide advice on the
execution of any further services.
 Having the ability to assign tasks and responsibilities to the assistant and other
staff necessary to maintain the section's constant smooth operation.

Qualifications:
 Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or in one of the chemical, physical or
biological sciences, and a
 Master's Degree in chemistry

Competencies/Abilities:
 Accuracy, organization, and efficiency in work.
 Use of laboratory tools appropriate to the specialization
 Able to interact with people at all levels effectively
 Demonstrate professionalism and customer-centricity.

Working Conditions:
 Involves working in treatment or exam rooms
 Occupy a position at a hospital, clinic, or private laboratory
 Works 40 hours a week
