◈ As a continuation of Noli Me Tangere, Rizal intended El Filibusterimo to be his Book 2.

Most of
his characters are the same and play significant roles in the sequel novel. While Noli Me Tangere
focuses on the ideal and regulated ways of dealing with human dramas and trials, the second
novel talks about tragedy and revolution headed by the main character, Crisostomo Ibarra-
turned-jeweler named Simoun.

◈ El Filibusterismo yung naging book 2 ni Rizal, inalay niyo itong El filibusterismo sa tatlong
paring martyr na sina Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos at si Jacinto Zamora na kung tawagin
ay GOMBURZA. Yung Noli me tangere tumutukoy lamang siya sa mga human dramas
and trials, ang el filibusterismo naman at patungkol sa tragedy at paghihiganti o
revolution na pinangungunahan ni Crisostomo Ibarra at nagpapanggap ngayong si
Simoun na isang mag aalahas.

◈ As a flashback, Crisostomo, a.k.a. Simoun, left the Philippines to avoid the Spanish arrest. While
in hiding for many years, he worked hard to further amass wealth as well as establish the right
connection to influential leaders in the Spanish Government. Upon his return in the Philippines,
people regarded him as influential, formidable, fearsome, and strongly connected to the
governor general.

◈ Si simoun ay umalis ng pilipinas para hindi siya mahuli ng mga espanyol, nagpayaman sa
ibang bansa, he worked hard para magkaroon siya ng malakas na connection sa mga
matataas na leader ng Spanish government dito sa pilipinas, sa pagbabalik niya bilang
Simoun ay kinilala siya bilang maimpluwensyang tao at kinatatakutan dahil malakas ang
koneksyon niya sa mga governor generals.

◈ Behind his visible front, his heart is aching with hatred and revenge directed to the Spaniards.
Simoun's earnest goals are to protect and save Maria Clara from Santa Clara monastery and lead
a revolution against the loathsome Spaniards.

◈ Kung titingnan ng mga tao ay isa lamang si Simoun na parte ng Spanish Government
dahil malakas ang koneksyon niya sa mga ito, pero kung titingnan natin siya bilang
Crisostomo Ibarra ay makikita natin ang galit at nais na paghihiganti niya sa mga
Espanyol. Ang tunay na pakay ni Simoun ay maprotektahan si Maria clara sa monastery
ng santa clara at mag lead ng revolution laban sa mga espanyol
