I am pleased to be writing to you today regarding my interest in applying for a new graduate
registered nursing position at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. My top areas of interest include the
pediatric intensive care unit, emergency department, and medical-surgical care. I am confident
that I am qualified for this position and can contribute to the values of this hospital as I have
experience in exceptional patient care, a strong passion for learning, and a well-rounded
education.

During my clinical rotations as a student nurse, I have gained confidence and experience with
performing nursing skills, interpreting patient data, communicating, and working alongside
nurses and other healthcare team members. I have recent experience as a peer mentor for the
lower division of my nursing program and volunteered at an off-campus vaccination site, where I
was able to administer COVID vaccines to adults and children. My experiences and studies have
helped prepare me to provide the best healing environment and healthcare for all pediatric
patients and their family members.

As a nursing student, I have learned the importance of maintaining safety, advocating, and
helping patients holistically heal while they are feeling most vulnerable. Ever since I underwent
surgery at a children’s hospital several years ago, I have developed a passion for pediatric health
care. I am also inspired and dedicated to take care of others the way my nurses helped care for
me.

I believe my educational, clinical, and work experiences align with values of Phoenix Children’s.
This includes providing family-centered, inclusive, and quality care for pediatric patients of
diverse backgrounds. I would be honored to join this organization and team and to apply my
