CFE 105
Missionary response
The CICM exemplified the missionary character of the 70 disciples
after the commissioning. As a CICM-trained Louisian, you are called
to respond to the needs of the following people (UN-SDG 4,10,16;
PCSS 4.1):
a. Stranded stranger in the city
- I will show hospitality to the stranger. As Jesus has always
done, He welcomes everyone especially strangers and the
poor. I will give him/her food to eat and a bed to sleep. It
might not be easy to let any stranger come inside the house,
but I will trust the Lord and entrust my safety to Him.

b. A classmate whose parents are separated

- In this situation, I will be a friend to whom he/she can lean to.
I will show empathy and put myself in my friend’s shoes to be
able to understand him/her fully. By then, I will know how to
comfort her in the same way I would’ve wanted to be
comforted. Even if I might not be able to fully understand how
he/she feels, I will still be there to listen and comfort her/him.

c. An elementary neighbor who cannot cope with his academics

- As a student myself, I would love to help him/her because I
know how it feels. I will give him/her techniques or strategies
to cope with academics such as time management, having
a healthy mind by sleeping 8 hours a day, and working hard
in academics. I will be an “ate” that will be there whenever
he/she needs help.

d. A self-proclaimed agnostic
- As a believer, I wanted to introduce God to him/her. He/she
might believe that the existence of God is unknown, but I still
wanted him/her to try. I respect his/her own beliefs and I will
not insist that he/she should believe in God. I just wanted
him/her to at least listen to me and understand my view or
belief in God. It is already his/her own decision on how he/she
would take my words but at least I tried. Change won’t start if
I didn’t at least try.
