CORAL NURSERY

In this cohort, LINI collaborate with
Reefgen to study coral and
seagrass growth in aquaculture
facilty to support coral reef and
seagrass rehabilita on.
Throughout the dura on of
research, we will also learn about
automa on solu ons that will
significantly accelerate the rate at
which environmental interven ons
may be performed in the ocean.
Required skill/experience:
1. Degree in biology, environmental science,
agricultural science, aquaculture, or related
field
2. Biology-related field lab experience
3. Comfort working on boats and in the water
4. Ability to communicate in English

Responsibili es:
1. Become familiar with current local seagrass
and coral restora on methods and projects
2. Iden fy local seagrass and coral species
suitable for restora on efforts
3. Assess poten al environmental hazard to
selected local seagrass and coral species
4. Carefully and sustainably harvest selected
seagrass species for nursery work
5. Maintain a seagrass and coral nursery. Task will
include maintaining pond cleanliness, removal
of detritus and algal build-up, monitoring and
troubleshoo ng of water quality issues, and
care for seagrass and coral
6. Inves gate the parameters best suited for
op mal growth of each species and follow
them precisely
7. Prepare nursery seagrass for transplanta on
8. Fragment coral colonies and prepare them for
transplanta on
9. Monitor and document results of effort to
establishing seagrass and coral in a nursery
environment
10. Monitor and document result of seagrass and
coral reef restora on efforts
What we will support:
1. Return flights from origin city to LATC, Bali
2. Monthly allowance
3. Accomoda on and meals at LATC during
internship
