Apple M2 Chip

M2 starts the next generation of Apple silicon.

Its 8-core CPU lets you zip through everyday
tasks like creating documents and
presentations, or take on more intensive
workflows like developing in Xcode or mixing
tracks in Logic Pro.

M2 features up to a 10-core GPU, resulting in a

big boost in graphics performance. And its
media engine lets you play and edit up to
11 streams of 4K and up to 2 streams of
8K ProRes video.²

Unified Memory

The more unified memory (RAM) you choose,

the more apps you can run simultaneously with
a higher rate of performance.

The MacBook Air with M2 chip can be

configured with up to 24GB for more fluid

The display on the 13.6-inch MacBook Air has rounded corners

at the top. When measured as a standard rectangular shape,
the screen is 34.46 centimetres (13.6 inches) diagonally
(actual viewable area is less).

production MacBook Air systems with Apple M2, 8-core CPU,
10-core GPU and 24GB of RAM. Final Cut Pro 10.6.2 tested
using a 1-minute picture-in-picture project with 4 streams of
Apple ProRes 422 video at 8192x4320 resolution and
30 frames per second, as well as a 1-minute picture-in-picture
project with 20 streams of Apple ProRes 422 video at
3840x2160 resolution and 29.97 frames per second.
Performance tests are conducted using specific computer
systems and reflect the approximate performance of
MacBook Air.
