Performance Task 3.

Measures of Central Tendency and Variability

Instructions: Make a frequency distribution table, and compute the mean, median, mode, range, variance and
standard deviation.

The following set of raw data shows the lengths, in millimeters, measured to the nearest mm, of 40 leaves taken
from plants of a certain species. This is the table of frequency distribution. Calculate the mean, median, mode,
range, variance, and standard deviation.

30 – 34 4

35 – 39 7

40 – 44 10

45 – 49 8

50 – 54 6

55 – 59 3

What to use: Google Docs/MS Word/Long Bondpaper. Can be typewritten or handwritten. Show complete
solutions.

Role of students: Group task (3-4 members,your choice). Only the leader will submit the PT 3.3. Make sure
that all the names are written.

File Format: Convert the docs into PDF “if possible”.

Submission: Upload the file in the Performance Task 3.3 on or before the posted deadline in the lms course
page (announcement) or in the GC (messenger).

Points received (if complete): 60 pts.
