Gary: Hey Jill, if you were rich, like so rich you never had to worry about money
ever, what would you do?
Jill: Hmm. If I were that rich, I would buy a nice house by the sea. I love the coast.
And I would travel the world. I would visit every country in the world. How about
you?
Gary: To be honest, I don’t really know, but I would give a lot of money to my
parents. They are old and they have worked so hard all of their lives. Apart from
that, yeah, well, traveling sounds good, yeah. I would love to do that. The rest, I’m
not so sure.
Jill: Yeah, well, it’s time to get back down to earth now and stop dreaming.
Tomorrow is another day at work and that ain’t going to make either of us rich.
2. Work with a partner. Imagine you are discussing some ideas about
the city of the future. What ideas do you have? Create a dialogue
using conditionals. Each student must speak at least 6 times.
Jorge: Hi honey, it was good, I’m doing the homework of the university. Do you like
to help me? It’s a scale model for how is gonna be this city in the future.
Jorge: Yeah! And if we have to travel so many hours in Transmilenio, in the future
we will be able to teleport like in Harry Potter.
Daniela: THAT IS GONNA BE WONDERFUL! And if today are people who do the
house chores in the future we will have robots that do it for us.
Daniela: Yeah and I’m going to do the houses and the cars, but would you like
maybe order a pizza from Little Ceasars?
Jorge: Why not? And also do you imagine that in the future it’s not gonna be
necessary a delivery because is probably the pans will be cook what you want.
