and Medicaid. Then answer the following questions in no more than (2)
pages, double spaced.

1. Describe the ways in which each of the (4) parts of Medicare are funded
by the federal government.

2. Describe the “Medicaid expansion” under the Affordable Care Act (ACA)
and how it changed eligibility for Medicaid. Were all U.S. citizens
affected by this change? Explain.

3. Explain why Medicare spending is of particular concern in the federal

budget over the next several decades.

4. Explain one dimension on which the Medicare program’s quality is

judged to be satisfactory by health care analysts. Then explain one
quality concern that analysts have with the program. Be sure to focus on
issues of quality as they are defined in the lecture – do not discuss trends
in costs.
