NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM

Project Proposal
PROJECT TITLE: PET BOTTLE COLLECTION PROGRAM: a program where we collect
PET BOTTLES in the community and sell to junk shops.

RATIONALE:
This is to lessen the garbage and pollution in the community, and at the same time Barangay
Poblacion will be earning from this.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
There is a study conducted by global advocacy firm McKinsey Center for Business and
Environment showed that the Philippines has one of the highest PET bottle recovery rates at 90
percent. This is a program in which we buy and collect PET bottles from the people living in the
community of Barangay Poblacion. And will sell to junk shops buying these. This will also
generate income and extra money for the residents of the Barangay. We will ask for consent
from the Barangay Officials to help announce this to the residents of the community. Since
mass gatherings are not allowed due to the pandemic, our group will be the ones going door to
door to collect PET bottles.

OBJECTIVES:
1. To reduce the over quantity of used pet bottles that causes drainage blockings.
2. To provide conveniency unto other people when it comes to selling pet bottles.
3. To generate money from the pet bottles and use for the good of the community.
4. To teach every household on how to segregate the pet bottles properly.
5. To control the impact of plastic waste on the environment, making our environment an eco-
friendly zone.
