To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Kathleen Ballinger, and I am writing this in hopes of being considered for a teaching
position in your district. I am a May 2023 Dakota State University graduate with a degree in
Secondary Mathematics Education, I also have a K-12 Classroom Technology Endorsement as
well. After my year long student teaching and substitute teaching experience, I am more than
excited to put everything I have learned and experience into play in my own classroom.

I believe the courses I have been fortunate enough to take over these years have given me the
knowledge and skills that are necessary to be an excellent and accommodating teacher. From
the educational theorists to the conceptual understandings of mathematics and everything in
between, I believe I have what it takes to help students’ knowledge grow in ways they can
grasp. I know math is not a favorite for most students; I am hoping that with the tools I have
gained and my desire for helping students succeed I can make it a great experience for all. If
given the opportunity I would love to support students in and out of the classroom, as well as
through extracurricular activities.

It would be an honor to further discuss the teaching position in your district with you. I would
