Background: Milk booths / dairy booths are an essential facility for the urban society/citizens. Looking towards the need of dairy products on day to day basis, these facilities needs to be provided at conveniently located places within walking distance {within 300 feet.) of any neighborhood. The milk booth/dairy booths are also part of urban street vending. Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi has notified Street Vendors (Protections of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014. The Act came into force from 1* May 2014. Urban Street Vending, Milk / Dairy booths are also good source of employment in addition to essential service of dairy products to the large section of society. Considering the need and facts mentioned above & looking to the technical Parameters like size, design (considering local heritage), distance from the junction, free flow of pedestrians and vehicular movement etc. Spatial guidelines for permission or installation of Permanent, Temporary / Portable Milk Booth/ Dairy Booth or Milk Vending Booth may be as below:- i, Permitted in all Land Uses of Master Plan. ii, Permitted within the width of footpath specified & executed in the Right of Way (RoW) with technical parameters mentioned below. ical Parameters: 1. Permissibility / Location w.r.t. ROW & Road Junction: i, If the site is abutting any road — No minimum RoW for dairy Booth / Milk Booth.ti. It the site is part of RoW of any road- Minimum 9.0 mtrs. RoW. (Minimum- 1 Dairy Booth upto 300 feet length of road). ili If the site of Milk / Dairy Booth is proposed on the road Junctions, following parameters shall be followed:~ | Road Junction Size Max.Nos. | Distance (Max.) No visual obstacle to entry/ exit of any compound/ property, at least 10 mt. away of entry/ exit of any compound. 3. Parking: Parking of Milk Booth / Dairy Booth to be planned at such locations where vehicles can he parked conveniently for temporary halt.
