 Technical interface = transceiver: The technical interface between a

module and the bus is based on a
standard UART RS 232 interface in conjunction with some additional components providing
the following characteristics:
− 2 wires twisted pair cable for transport signals and electric power. No shielding.
− Signal coding: Logical „1“ = 15 to 24 V-DC; Logical „0“ = 9 to 12 V-DC
− Logical „1“ = recessive bus value; logical „0“ = dominant bus value
− Power supplied by the bus lines is limited to 18 mA/node
− Reverse polarity protection
− Bus Coupling: Galvanically coupled or decoupled (e.g. by opto-couplers)
− Bit rate: 2.400 Baud
