Installation Guide

Introduction

Altair ConnectMe™, a tool available in HyperWorks 2019 to efficiently manage, launch and update
products within the HyperWorks and Altair Partner Alliance products. ConnectMe could be defined as the
desktop twin of Altair Connect, Altair’s web customer portal.
This quick install guide provides instructions for the basic installation of Altair ConnectMe 2019.

Installing and Invoking ConnectMe

There are two ways to install Altair ConnectMe:

1. Installation as part of the HyperWorks Suite
2. Installation from a standalone package

1. Installation as part of the HyperWorks Suite

ConnectMe is bundled in the HyperWorks Desktop 2019 and HyperWorks Solvers 2019 packages.
This part assumes that a user has already installed either HyperWorks Desktop or HyperWorks
Solvers on a Windows computer.

• Install HyperWorks 2019 on the designated machine(s)

• Locate the shortcut Install ConnectMe
o On Windows 7 it is located in the Start Menu  Altair HyperWorks 2019  Tools
o On Windows 10 it is located in the Start Menu  Altair HyperWorks 2019
• Follow the steps as indicated in the ConnectMe installer to complete the installation

2. Installation from a standalone package

If both HyperWorks Desktop 2019 and HyperWorks Solvers 2019 are not installed on the designated
machine, ConnectMe can be installed individually.

• Log into Altair Connect

• Download the Altair ConnectMe installer, hwConnectMe2019_win64.exe, to a local location
• Double click the installer to launch the installation wizard
• Follow the steps as indicated in the ConnectMe installer to compete the installation

3. Invoking ConnectMe
Once the installation is completed, the ConnectMe shortcut is available in the Start Menu  Altair
ConnectMe.

ConnectMe will automatically start when the installation is completed.

ConnectMe Window can be minimized by clicking located on the upper right corner of the window.
ConnectMe Window can be brought back from the ConnectMe icon located in the system tray

Note: Altair ConnectMe 2019 installation can recognize the HyperWorks Version 14.0, 2017, 2018, 2019 and their
update releases available on Altair Connect. Only one version of ConnectMe can be installed on a local machine
