Getting top marks in an examination

is not the only way to prove a person’s intelligence.

INTRO
Sadly, our generation today comparing themselves to their classmates
because they think that they are not in line with those smart kids. I am
standing here today, not as your classmate, nor the typical Leah Rose
Cahandig that you have known, but as a motivational speaker that will tell you
that getting top marks in an examination is not the only way to prove a
person's intelligence.
Subject:
conflict:many claim that grades are a true measure of intelligence is really
exams define person's intelligence or not? Why You are writing about it?
Because some of my classmates feel depress as they receive low graes
during exams
Opinion:What my opinion on the said issue. I believe that it doesn't define
person's intelligence

OBJECTIVE RESEARCH Mrittika Das, First year, Presidency University,

Calcutta. Academic tests are conducted to test if students have been studying. They
basically test the learning ability of a student, not his or her intelligence. Many
geniuses had bad grades in school. If grades were a true indication of effort or
intelligence, then almost all geniuses would get great grades and do really
well in school. There are many examples where people who are highly
intelligent have done very poorly at school. Even famous physicist Albert Einstein
failed his school tests. He did outstandingly well in physics and mathematics, but
failed the non-science subjects, doing especially badly in French, the Language and
History sections. Answer sheets do not prove the intelligence a person has. Many
students make spelling mistakes or careless mistakes due to nervousness or hurry.
Students have trouble memorising long, complicated definitions. Writing a perfect
description within the word limit and time is also a difficult task. Often, students
know the correct answers but fail to write them according to the instructions given in
the paper. Why I'm saying you all this, because sooner. In god's will, we will all
taking an exam for Licensed Professional Teacher, and we may be passed the test but
it doesn't necessarily you're an intelligent person. Schoolwork is mostly based on
memorization skills, which is something anyone is capable of doing. Many students
remember seeing a certain word or phrase on a test review and then circle it on the
actual test because they saw it earlier. In fact, most students don’t even know the
meaning of what they memorized before. The ability to remember a specific concept
does not accurately gauge comprehension skills or understanding of something.
Students are all taught the same material at school, which is not fair because all
students absorb information in different ways. There are three types of learners,
visual, auditory and kinesthetic, and all need material presented in different ways to
effectively remember things. Basic schoolwork does not allow students to learn easily
and comfortably. For example, a smart student who does not like presenting to a class
will not do as good as the loud student who doesn’t care what anyone thinks. In order
to effectively measure a student’s intelligence, they must be allowed to learn how they
most feel comfortable.
Take Bill Gates for example, a very wealthy and successful man who dropped out of
Harvard University two years into his degree and later became the co-founder of
Microsoft. He is intelligent, and yet he did not have a college degree when he started
his company. See, imagine. Also, Thomas Edison, one of the most successful
inventors in human history, He developed many devices in fields such as electric
power generation, mass communication, sound recording, and motion pictures, and
yet he was kicked out of school at age 12 for being poor at math and unable to
concentrate. So, to my dearest classmate who are not good in Mathematics, there’s a
50% chance that we may successful in life.
Grades do not measure intelligence, but they do reflect how well we perform in
school. On the contrary, a 'dos' or even a 'tres' does not mean that one is flunking their
subjects, for it, a truth academically acknowledges that some courses are just hard to
pass and that getting a 'tres' is more than enough.Because Albest Einstein said,
"The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination. And Albert
Einstein has no special talent. He is only passionately curious.”

COUNTER-ARGUMENTS - OPPOSING RESEARCH

In a world where college acceptance rates are slimming down and the difference
between each class rank is steadily shrinking, good grades are more vital than ever.
What used to be a major accomplishment is now an expectation of all students, and
many current high school students are feeling the pressure grow each year to have
academic success. While many claim that grades are a true measure of intelligence, a
person’s comprehension skills are far deeper than their ability to correctly identify an

ionic compound or to know the definition of a theocracy. Schoolwork is mostly

based on memorization skills, which is something anyone is capable of

doing. Many students remember seeing a certain word or phrase on a

test review and then circle it on the actual test because they saw it

earlier. In fact, most students don’t even know the meaning of what

they memorized before. The ability to remember a specific concept

does not accurately gauge comprehension skills or understanding of

something Grades are merely just a set of numbers used to demonstrate a skill in a
particular field and ability to learn new concepts.

CLOSING

Because at the end of the day, Giving up is the only true failure.

we may not be as intelligent as everyone, but we are rich attitude, of

intelligence is nothing without attitude such as respecting our fellow
neighbors. We should always remember that, I know this is very cliche, but a

single piece of paper doesn't define us. Grades is just a number. ineffective

in separating smart people from others.  And Intelligence is the ability to

learn something new. There’s no dumb in this world because Albert Einstein
said“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it
will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” .That's all. Thank you.
