1. Supply the missing amount in each item.

S. No. Cost Price Selling Price Profit Loss

A P 5000 ₱ 6,000 P 1000 0

B P 12000 P 10000 0 ₱ 2,000

C ₱ 1,800 P 2400 P 600 0

D P 5400 P 7200 ₱1,800 0

E ₱ 8,000 P 8000 0 0

F P 6200 P 6000 ₱ 200 0

G P 3300 P 4000 0 ₱ 700

H P 1100 P 1900 ₱ 800 0

2. Read each problem and solve for the following. Kindly show your solutions.
a. Jane sold her genset for P 20 000 at a profit of P 1737. Find the CP of genset.

SELLING PRICE = ₱ 20,000

PROFIT OF = ₱ 1,737

COST PRICE = (?)

SELLING PRICE-PROFIT=COSTPRICE

₱ 20,000- ₱ 1,737

COST PRICE = ₱ 18, 263

b. Simi bought a study table for P 9000. She sold it at a profit of 20%. How
much profit did she make? What is the selling price?

ORIGINAL PRICE= ₱ 9,000

PROFIT PERCENT = 20 %

SELLING PRICE= (?)

₱ 9,000 * 0.20 = ₱ 1,800

₱ 1,800 + ₱ 9,000 (ORIGINAL PRICE)

SELLING PRICE = ₱ 10,800

c. Joy bought pens at P 120 a dozen. He sold it for P 15 each. What is his profit
percent?

ORIGINAL PRICE= ₱ 120 (dozen)

SELLING PRICE= ₱ 15 (each)

PROFIT PERCENT= (?)

₱ 15 * 12 = ₱ 180

₱ 180- ₱ 120

= ₱ 60 (PROFIT)

TO GET THE PERCENT

(₱ 60/ ₱ 120*100)

=0.5*100
PROFIT PERCENT = 50 %

d. Find the selling price of an item if the cost price is P 1 200 and loss percent is
25.

COST PRICE = ₱ 1,200

LOSS PERCENT = 25% (100-25=75/0.75)

SELLING PRICE= (?)

₱ 1,200 / ₱ 0.75

SELLING PRICE = ₱ 1,600

CHECKING: ₱ 1,200 - ₱ 1,600 = -₱ 400 (LOSS)

e. A fruit vendor bought 600 apples for P 4 800. He spent P 600 on

transportation. How much should he sell each to get a profit of P 1 800?

600 APPLES = ₱ 4,800

EXPENSE = ₱ 600 (TRASNPO)

TO FIND THE SELLING PRICE

COST PRICE + EXPENSE

₱ 4,800 + ₱ 600 = ₱ 5, 400

₱ 5,400 + ₱ 1,800 = ₱ 7,200

TO FIND EACH AMOUT OF APPLE IN ₱ 1,800 PROFIT

₱ 7,200 / 600 = ₱ 12

SELLING PRICE = ₱ 12 each apples

CHEKING: ₱ 7,200 - ₱ 5,400 = ₱ 1,800 (PROFIT)
