1. Define human resource management, and explain how HRM contributes to an


organization’s performance.
Managing human resource management. Resources are things you need in order to
produce something, as the word suggests. For instance, resources like money and
material. People are the focus of human resource management. And not just regular
people, but the individuals who make up the business, or what are known as employees.
Recruiting, hiring, deploying, and managing employees are all tasks that are within the
responsibility of the department known as human resources, or HRM. By developing,
implementing, and managing the policies that control the employees, HRM has improved
the performance of an organization. They make sure that there is good integration of the
relationships among the employees within the company.

2. Identify the responsibilities of human resource departments. Give examples at least 3


examples.
 Analyzing and designing jobs - these are concerned with obtaining specific
information about a job and defining how work will be done.
 Training and developing employees - They make sure that the employees receive
the best tools possible in order to improve their abilities and broaden their
knowledge.
 Ensuring compliance with labor laws - To keep the business out of trouble with
federal, state, and local laws, it needs a dedicated employee who closely monitors
the organization's legal and regulatory compliance. Due to the fact that if a
business does not follow the law, applicants or employees may complain.

3. How can human resource management contribute to a company’s success?


By producing the most qualified candidates for employment, human resource
management can significantly contribute to the company's success. Providing a valuable
asset that cannot be replaced. Because a successful organization can achieve its
objectives by having a large number of highly qualified employees.

4. Why do all managers and supervisors need knowledge and skills related to human
resource management?
Since they are in charge of developing top performers, managing each employee's
performance, and, most importantly, preserving the harmonious environment within the
organization, supervisors and managers must possess the skills and knowledge of HRM.
Because if they don't perform their duties and responsibilities because they lack the HRM
knowledge and skills, they won't be able to implement best practices and accomplish an
organization's goals and strategies in an efficient manner.

5. Describe and explain typical careers in human resource management.


HRM professionals typically hold office jobs where they are in charge of keeping records
of personnel changes like hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, and terminations. The
aforementioned responsibilities are part of an HR assistant's job description. The
development and delivery of employee training programs are another responsibility of a
training coordinator. The establishment of the training and educational program for
employees is the responsibility of the training manager. A career in HRM encompasses
all responsibilities and tasks related to the company's employees.

6. Do you think HRM support diversity of management? How does it gain a competitive
advantage to the labor force?
HRM encourages diversity in management, which leads to the development of HRM
procedures that guarantee that all employees, regardless of differences, have their talents,
skills, and values sufficiently developed. Additionally, it developed a competitive edge
over the labor force. In that, workers are now motivated to work toward a common goal
while feeling supported by an inclusive environment, leading to higher productivity and
employee commitment.

7. Define the following terms and concepts.


a. Human Capital - Human capital is another term used to describe human resources.
Human capital is defined as the people working under an organization who have the
ability, skills, and knowledge to do their tasks and deal with the different dilemmas
the company might face.
b. High – performance work system - This relates to an organization that has the best
possible social and technological systems to produce high-quality or top-rated goods
and services to satisfy customers and employees as well as for the organization to
acquire and maintain a competitive advantage.
c. Recruitment - is the procedure for attracting and retaining new employees to the
organization.
d. Training and developing employees - This refers to the educational initiatives that the
company has taken to improve and broaden the knowledge and skills of its
employees.
