"Go beyond your limits, limits are just for the weak." - Ivan Jasper M Tayaban

CDT/MAJ IVAN JASPER M TAYABAN 1CL is currently a third-year student of Bachelor

of Science in Criminology at the University of Baguio.

CDT TAYABAN attempts to become a military, police officer, or member of an

organization that upholds peace and order in our nation, protecting its citizens and
ensuring their safety.

From elementary school through high school, Cdt Tayaban took part in a variety of
sporting events. He started loving competitive sports when he joined wushu sanda at his
junior high school. He tried to participate in several combat sports, including Wushu,
Boxing, and Muay Thai. He took up sports as a hobby, and it later became the foundation
for his effective leadership and followership. He gained the ability to coach younger
individuals and those new to such sports. As a collegiate student-athlete, he was
energized by his assertion that not everything you teach is right and one has to accept
defeat and mistakes.

He opted for the Advance ROTC recruitment because, being the adventurous man that
he is, he also wanted to push himself to the limit. But he wasn't able to find out what his
boundaries were. He was able to increase his abilities and maximize favorable results.
With his upbeat, fervent, and forthright nature, Cdt. Tayaban establishes himself as an
excellent senior officer who his junior officers also look up to. He claimed that by joining
the ROTC, he was able to express who he is, practice maximum tolerance, and develop
the ability to maintain informational confidentiality. Along with everything else, he
continued, "Since I joined ROTC, I have improved a lot in myself, including skills,
knowledge, discipline, and being open in any situation."

"Challenge yourself and exceed your limit since the boundary is simply made up by
yourself," he says in an endeavor to motivate. He continues by saying that overcoming
the challenges of being an ROTC officer will enable one to reflect and evaluate what has
changed.

Honor. Patriotism. Duty.
