DESIGN OF SMART HELMET

ABSTRACT:

The main target of the project is designing a smart helmet for accident
avoidance. The IR sensor checks if the person is wearing the helmet or not. If the
person is not wearing the helmet, the bike will not start. In helmet section IR TX
and IR RX is fixed on the two Sides of the helmet. Infrared Transmitter is nothing
but one type of LED generally called which IR emits Infrared rays. If the person
wears the Helmet then the IR receiver will not receive the transmitted signal. It will
be transmitted to the vehicle section through RF signal transmitter.

When a person start the vehicle, it checks for the signal from RF transmitter.
If he didn’t wear the helmet, it will be identified by the RF signal and the bike
won’t start, alarm will be switched on. After he wears the helmet only the bike will
start. To indicate the starting of the bike, one DC motor connectd.
