THOMAS HARRIS

Thomas Harris (born 1940) is an American writer, famous for

creating the character of Hannibal Lecter.
All of his works (apart from 2019 Cari Mora) have been made
into films/series, up to three times for the book Red Dragon
(Manhunter in 1986, Red Dragon in 2002 and the third season
of Hannibal in 2015).
Harris started his career as a journalist (for Associated Press)
before moving on to writing novels in 1975.
Harris is a very secretive writer and very little is known about
his personal life (for example he didn’t give any interviews between 1976 and 2019).

JONATHAN DEMME

Robert Jonathan Demme (1944 - 2017) was an American film

director, producer, and screenwriter.
In the 1980s he was mostly known for directing comedy films
before moving to more ‘serious’ subjects in the 90s. He also
directed many political and/or musical documentaries.
Demme is known for his style of close-ups where the
character looks directly into the camera to put the viewer into
the other character's shoes. This technique influenced
directors such as Paul Thomas Anderson and Wes Anderson
and is usually referred to as a “Demme close-up”.
