My name is Anoof and I take this opportunity to present my views in favour

of “Do we really work hard to save our environment?”

I am saying this because there are things done nationally and

internationally for the protection of the environment. For example, Here in
Maldives you can’t take sand from the beach or corals as it is protected by
law. So people in sea transport have to look out because you can’t harm
the reef.

We can even look at the ozone layer for the evidence that we are, really
working hard to save the environment. The ozone layer has been
recovering since 1979 and it is still recovering. As of now in 2022 it has
been recovered a lot.

Now plastic are being reduced in large amounts of quantities as it is

banned in schools and government offices and it is constantly being
globally informed to people that plastic are very harmful to the
environment and many people are responding to this and stopping the use
of plastic. Some plastics are even banned to import here in Maldives. Over
80 countries have fully or partially banned plastic bags. Countries like Kenya
and Thailand have fully banned the use of plastic bags. In US 8 states have
fully banned the use of plastics bags like New York City.

In Maldives there is as it happens an organization called “Environmental

Protection Agency” as on the international level there are countless
organizations like “United Nations Environment Programme” and
“Greenpeace” and “Global Environment Facility” and “International Union
for Conservation of Nature”. All of these organizations are working very
hard to save our environment. So you can’t just ignore them and all the
people around the world working intensely and diligently for the
environment. Everyday these people increase. So we are in fact everyday
working harder than before to save our environment.

I find some corrections in what “Name” just stated.
