DOS ATTACK

ABSTRACT
Today, owing to the Openness nature of the Internet and Defects in the
TCP/IP protocol, the Internet has become more vulnerable to attackers for
attacking. One of the serious threats to the Internet is Denial-of-Service
attacks where any number of attackers can disrupt legitimate
communication between any parties. Nowadays so many techniques are
used to prevent the DoS attacks. However these techniques defend the
DoS attacks from the attacker but they also have some vulnerabilities and
issues which have been described. In this paper, DoS attack is observed in
simulation environment with detailed analysis followed by protection
mechanism with description, we have compared all DoS attack prevention
mechanisms such as TVA, SIFF, Pushback and AITF. Simulation
experimental results show that a better understanding of DoS attacks and
efficient and effective algorithms can be developed.
