Summary :

D’Artagnan, going to Paris because of his father sends him to serve their King. D’artagnan is
carrying a letter of introduction to his father's friend, Monsieur de Treville, captain of the King's
Musketeers. On the way to Paris, D’Artagnan meets with two people who insulted him, then
D’Artagnan fight to them, but he is beaten and the letter of introduction is taken from him. In
Paris, he is granted an interview with Monsieur de Treville, and M. De Treville promised
D’Artagnan will acceptance in the Royal Academy free of charge, d'Artagnan can expect to
become a musketeer.

While Treville, is writing a new letter of introduction, d'Artagnan glances out the window and, by
accident, sees the person who robbed him. He runs after him, and while pursuing him, he offends
three musketeers. After he meets the musketeers and begins dueling with Athos, they are all
threatened with arrest by the cardinal's guards because of a law against dueling. D'Artagnan joins
forces with the musketeers and helps drive the cardinal's men away. Then, almost immediately
after his arrival in Paris, D'Artagnan becomes an intimate friend of the three musketeers.

One day, Bonacieux, D’Artagnan landlord ask his help, his wife Madame Bonacieux has been
kidnapped, probably someone kidnapped her because of she is the queen's dressmaker and
knows the queen's secrets. The queen have secret lover, and Madame Bonacieux knew it.

At the end street D’Artagnan see two people walking away from him. They were a man and a
woman, and he was almost certain that man was Aramis. The woman is Madame Bonecieux, who
managed to escape, and the man is an English nobleman, the duke of Buckingham, the queen's
secret lover; being an Englishman, the man is also an enemy of France. That night, the queen
gives the duke an elegant gift of twelve diamond tags in a rosewood box.

The cardinal’s spy knows it, then the cardinal began to poison king’s mind. King ask the queen to
wear her diamond when the ball next week, like the cardinal said. The queen had terror. Then
queen order Madame Bonacieux to ask help to D’Artagnan and the three musketeers.

Then they are going to London to get the diamond. One by one of them stayed to face the enemy
and just left d'Artagnan to London and get the diamond. After giving back the diamond,
D’Artagnan goes in search of his friends. After they were reunited, they are going back to Paris.

D'Artagnan sees Milady by accident and is overwhelmed by her beauty; he follows her and tries
to protect her from a bothersome man who turns out to be her brother-in-law. The brother-in-
law challenges D'Artagnan to a duel and they fight. D'Artagnan overpowers him, but spares his
life. In appreciation for his life, the brother-in-law, Lord de Winter, introduces D'Artagnan to
Milady, Lady de Winter. Meanwhile, Milady's maid sees D'Artagnan and falls in love with him, and
later she tells him that Milady is madly in love with Count de Wardes, the man whom D'Artagnan
wounded just before sailing to London. She also gives D'Artagnan a love note which Milady has
written to de Wardes. Then D’Artagnan found that Milady was one of the cardinal spies.
D’Artagnan leave her and going to tell about Milady to Athos, Porthos, and Aramis. They found
that Milady has plans to kill The Duke of Buckingham.

Milady was captured by English navy because of she one of the cardinal and because of her plans.
But Milady can escape with her sweet talk to the guard. And she poisons that Guard’s mind to kill
The Duke of Buckingham, and that's all successful. She then escapes to France, where she is
determined to complete her revenge against D'Artagnan. She goes to the convent where the
queen has placed Madame Bonacieux, D'Artagnan's beloved, for protection, and there Milady
wins the young girl's confidence. Precisely when D'Artagnan and the musketeers arrive to rescue
Madame Bonacieux, Milady poisons her and escapes. D'Artagnan and the musketeers track her
down, accuse and judge her of her many crimes and execute her.

Comment :

This Story takes our mind to adventure set in France (1626), when Louis XIII was King of France. The
reader amused with the adventure and the fight of sword. The language of simplified novel isn’t too
difficult to read, so the reader can understand the plot of story with easier.
