The Adamson Lady Falcons: Time to Soar Once More

In UAAP Season 81, the Adamson Lady Falcons had a turbulent tournament which saw them finish with
only two wins. Despite the rocky start, as the season went on, the winds of change were already starting
to blow in favor of the Lady Falcons, culminating in a three set win in their final game of the tournament
against UP.

This UAAP Season 82, the Lady Falcons are re-tooled, re-focused and reloaded, brandishing new players
and having endured a more intense training camp, the new-look San Marcelino squad is raring to spread
their wings and soar once more in the UAAP.

Key lineup changes

This season the Lady Falcons will be taking the court without the twin towers Joy Dacoron and Eli Soyud
manning their side of the net. Both of them used their final playing years in Season 81. The Lady Falcons
will also be missing the services of hard hitters Bern Flora and Chiara Permentilla. Bern chose to forgo
her remaining playing years with Adamson, meanwhile Chiara is nursing an injury that will keep her out
for the whole season.

The loss of key players from last year’s lineup means new roles to fill for the remaining players. Now
sophomore Krich Macaslang will be taking more responsibility defending the net while Trisha Genesis
and Chien Ave will serve as the main guns of the Lady Falcons. Thang Ponce, now a veteran of the team,
will continue to patrol the floor to dig up spikes that come their way, all while serving as the tone-setter
for the team.

Throughout the build-up to the season it has been the additions to the lineup that have been creating
the most buzz. Trisha Genesis who has started to see more playing time in pre-season tournaments has
quickly become a recognizable name among volleyball fans. Her power and skill as an attacker have
already earned her conference MVP honors in the PVL.

Rookies Lorene Toring and Andrea Cruz will be aiding Krich as their first line of defense at the net.
Additional firepower will be coming in the form of rookies Martina Aprecio, Maveth Torres and
Antonette Adolfo.

Meanwhile, all eyes will be on rookie setter Louie Romero as she shows just why she was so heavily
sought after coming out of high school. Despite being a new addition to the team, Romero has already
shown her worth, leading the Lady Falcons to the PVL championship where she was named Finals MVP.
Louie quickly earned the trust of her teammates and coaches, both in her skills and leadership ability,
making her a solid choice to be the team captain of the Lady Falcons for UAAP Season 82.

Coaching Staff

Calling the shots for the Lady Falcons this coming tournament will be coach Lerma Giron. A rookie in her
own right with this being her first stint as a head coach in the UAAP seniors division, “Mama Lerms” is
tasked with guiding the Lady Falcons on their climb to the top of the standings. While this may be her
first seniors stint, this is definitely not her first rodeo. In Season 81, coach Lerma led the Lady Falcons’
girls team to a 1st runner up finish in the UAAP. This was followed up by a championship run in the PVL
Collegiate Conference, one that showcased her ability to communicate with her players and bring out
the best in them.

She is not alone in her task of maximizing the talents of the young athletes as Tai Bundit has also been
brought along as a trainer and consultant. The collegiate champion coach has expressed his optimism
with the rookie-laden squad, stating that among the teams he has coached in the past, the Adamson
Lady Falcons have shown the most skill during their first year training under him.
