STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This research aims to improve the verbal communication skills by listening music among
the students of Genesis College’s Inc.
 Why most people use to listen music?
 In what way do younger and older responds by listening music?
 To what extent do people responds by listening music to verbal communication?
 What are the possible impacts of listening music for the improvement of verbal
communication?
OBJECTIVES

This research aims to conduct a research entitled “IMPROVING VERBAL


COMMUNICATION SKILLS TO THE RELATION IN LISTENING MUSIC OF THE
STUDENTS IN GENESIS COLLEGES INC.” This study aims to achieved the following
objectives:

1. Determine the socio-demographic profile of students in Genesis Colleges Inc.


2. To know the possible impacts of listening music to people in one’s individual
growth.
3. Determine the possible ways to improve the verbal communication skills by
listening music.
RATIONALE

According to Mobbs & Cuyul (2018), anyone who has taught listening and speaking course to
second language learners knows that it can be challenging.
According to Abrahams (2013), analytical music therapy is “a model of music therapy developed
by British music therapist Mary Priestley… consist of the analytically-informed symbolic use of
music impralised and discussed by therapist and client”
According to statistics, 90% of the world’s population (Approximately 7-11 billion people)
listens to music, and it is no surprise. Music is a universal language that people use to
communicate with one another.
According to Northwestern University (2007), music training with its pervasive effects on the
nervous system's ability to process sight and sound, may be more important for enhancing verbal
communication skills than learning phonics, according to a new study.
Music and communication are closely linked and there are many skills that are common to both.
There is a lot of research which supports, that exposure to music from an early age is Beneficial
for communication development.
