Present Simple

Formation:
Affirmative: S + VB 1/ pers. III –s or –es
I go to school every day.
He reads a book every month.
Interrogative: Do/Does (pers. III, sg)+S+ Vb1
Do you go to school every day?
Does he read a book every month?

Negative: S+ DO/DOES (pers. III, sg) +not + VB1

I do not/don`t go to school every day.
He does not/doesn`t read a book every month.

When we use present simple?

1. Everyday activities: I go to the mountains every month.
We have breakfast at 7:00 every morning.
2. Habitual actions, hobbies: She plays tennis in her free time.
In the summer, they go to the seaside.
3. Permanent situations: He lives in Paris.
I work as a manager.
4. Express actions that respect a certain schedule: The bus for Bucharest lives at 12.00 on Monday.
I have Maths Friday at 10.00.
5. Emotional situations: I love my girlfriend very much.
He hates cats.
6. General truths: The earth moves around the sun.
Water boils at 100°C.

Writing:
1. La majoritatea verbelor se adaugă terminația –s la persoana a III-a singular:
