Q1. What do you understand by Minimum Wage? Distinguish between fair wage, minimum
wage and living wage.

Q2. Can the employer revise wage structure of its workmen to their prejudice? What are the
criteria adopted by the Industrial Adjudicatory authorities in fixing/ revising the wage
structure?

Q3. Bijoy a workman while performing the duty of the employer died due to an accident. It
was proved that at the time of accident, Bijoy was under the influence of intoxication whether
the employer is liable to pay compensation.

Q4. Describe the constitution and power of Employees State Insurance Act and its standing
committee established under the Employees State Insurance Act 1948.

Q5. What was the purpose of passing Maternity Benefit Act,1961. Write down the salient
features of the new amendment introduced to the Maternity Benefit Act.

b) Powers of Commissioner to pay Compensation

Q7. Discuss the object of the payment of Gratuity Act 1972. When is gratuity payable and at
what rate?

Q8. State the provisions of Factories Act with regard to Health Safety and Welfare of the
Labour.
