GUIDE 01: CLAUSES AND SENTENCES – 2022 (G0__)

DIRECTIONS:
1. Take out all the dependent clauses and number them in your answer sheet and in the
guide. Do not take them separately, please. See the example below.
2. Do not write the whole clauses or the whole sentences.
3. Use ARIAL 12.
4. Do not leave spaces between lines.
5. You have to use the ACRONYMS you used with the sentence elements/nouns for the
NOUN CLAUSES: Subj. – D.O. – S.C. – APP – Obj. of “…..”, etc.
6. Be careful with SPELLING as I will not take into account your analyses if there is a
SPELLING ERROR.
7. DO NOT WRITE PERIODS!
8. When classifying the sentences, please, do not write the word SENTENCE─write only
the type: Simple, Complex, Compound or C-C. (This is the only way I will accept your
answers.)
9. This is like a rehearsal for you next test, so please, follow directions. If you do not
do it, you will get a bad grade. So…..it is better that you follow instructions from A
to Z. Thanks.
10. You must use a different color for CLAUSES and a different one for SENTENCES.

What the English teacher wanted to do with her Ss on Saturday was something 2that she
thought will not affect them; on the contrary, it will benefit those 3whose understanding on
“causatives” is not that clear yet. 2It did not matter 4if she had to sacrifice her weekend 5since
she thinks 6that her Ss deserve special attention. 3This idea not only brought her lots of
inconveniences, but also made her feel so sick the whole weekend. 4She will never do this
