tasked with completing a multimodal
presentation for the Celebration of Writing
event. This multimodal presentation
and videos for the purpose of intriguing my
audience at the event.
X In SER 310 (Testing & Exercise
Prescription), I was asked to follow a case
study to determine what should be included
in an exercise prescription. For the case
study, I had to analyze the health issues of
the individual, make decisions on if I should
proceed with exercise based on his
condition, and then use my critical thinking
skills to determine the safest exercise
prescription based on the individual’s goals
and health status.
X As the co-president of the Exercise Science
Club, it is my responsibility to help host
both officer and club meetings as well as
discuss with the club members about
upcoming events. As a board of club
officers, we work together as a team to put
on events. Individually, I have planned to
have the Exercise Science Club members
help at the Hempfield Recreational Center
for Special Olympics.

and the appropriate lab equipment and
technology to complete the lab. Because we
had no guidance, we had to problem-solve to
determine the best course of action to
complete the task of performing a successful
titration and accomplish our goal of
determining the correct equivalence point
for our reactants.

X Being a part of the basketball team, I have
had the opportunity to play with teammates
who came from foreign countries to play at
Seton Hill. I am currently playing with two
girls from Catalonia and a girl from Paris,
France. During the time I have played with
these international student-athletes, I have
learned so much about their culture as well
as their respective languages. For instance,
I had the opportunity to learn first-hand
about the struggles occurring between
Catalonia and Spain; a cultural subject I
would know nothing about if I was not
fortunate enough to play basketball with
foreign teammates.

am provided human rights and basic

Crow’ which is the evolvement of racial
discrimination. For this presentation, I used
several sources to support my claim and

manner on a powerpoint. In the powerpoint,
I emphasized the significance of racial
discrimination in today’s society by
comparing historical discriminative actions
to today’s discriminative actions.

Through my research, I had to interpret both
qualitative and quantitative information to
formulate my own position of apple cider’s
effectiveness on weight loss. For my

argument and the pros and cons of the
supplement. Ultimately, I gave evidence-
based reasons as to why apple cider vinegar
should not be considered an effective
weight loss supplement.

festivals in Spain. Through my research, I
was intrigued to find unique holidays and
festivals that I never even heard of before.
At first, the events seemed strange, but as I
explored the reasonings behind each festival
and holiday more I gained a respect for the

holiday had its own cultural and historical
meaning. Also, it was very interesting to
learn more and gain respect for a different
view of similar holidays that we have here
in the United States.

X In SPL 210 (Introduction to Ethics), I had the
opportunity to research a current controversial
ethical issue. I chose the morality of stem cell
research. People have contradictory opinions of
whether or not stem cells should be used in the
medical field to help essentially regrow and heal
parts of the body. It is contradictory because
stem cells need to be extracted from live
embryos, very similar to the subject of abortion.
The decision of whether or not using stem cells
is ethical is blurred. In the presentation, I
compared the moral philosophical theories of
deontological ethics and utilitarian ethics; both
confirmed that the decision of the use of stem
cells can either be determined as ethical or
unethical based on intent.
X In SLA 150 (Faith, Religion & Society), I was
asked to explore the potential impact Catholic
social teaching may have on racial injustice. I
concluded that Catholic social teaching
acknowledges that every human life is precious,
no matter the race, ethnicity, sexuality, or
religion of a person. It is important that I not
only had the opportunity to learn about Catholic
social teaching but also can apply the teachings
to contemporary social issues because of the
continued social injustices occurring in our
society.
X In SLA 150 (Faith, Religion & Society), I was
was tasked with researching the similarities
between the teachings of Jesus Christ and
Muhammad. Writing this paper helped to teach
me the value of understanding and finding
likeness in contrasting religious perspectives.
This assignment opened my mind to the
complexities of different religious teachings and
has allowed me the chance to compare different
religions. Learning the principles of different
religions and spiritual perspectives is important
to me because it better enables me to understand
and sympathize with those around me; it also
helps to reduce fear and intolerance.

X In SLA 400 (Senior Integrative Seminar), our
class completed a justice project. For our
project, we chose to support the Westmoreland
Community Action Program. This organization
works to help those families in the community
who are struggling financially, specifically
single-income or low income families. The goal
of working with this organization was to help
improve the standard of living for those
struggling financially in the surrounding area by
collecting non-perishable food items, hygienic
products, clothing items, diapers, and other
necessities. We also chose to take action on
campus by writing inspirational and uplifting
messages on notecards and rocks for the Seton
Hill population to see. We hoped that these
messages would help better the mental health of
those walking around campus.
X As an officer of SAAC (Student Athlete
Advisory Committee), I was tasked with
encouraging each of the players on all of the
teams at Seton Hill to go out and vote on
November 8. To raise awareness about Election
Day, the NCAA requires most of the sports
teams to be given November 8 off from practice
so that players have the opportunity to vote. I
sent each sports team examples of possible civic
engagement activities that they could participate
in as a team. For instance, for basketball, we
celebrated cultural differences on our team by
cooking foreign foods together and talking
about the voting systems in Catalonia and in
France.

effective work habits. This opportunity will
allow me to experience the daily tasks of a
chiropractor.

Because I am a senior, this resume
identifies and articulates all the skills,
strengths, knowledge, and experiences I
have received over the past four years, and
it will help me achieve my future career
goals.

Science), I was asked to complete two
career observations on two different
careers. These experiences helped me to
formulate reasons for why I did or did not
want to pursue specific careers. The career
observations were experimental learning
experiences that helped me to decide to
further pursue a career in chiropractic.
