2.1 Relate effectively across X Being a part of the basketball team, I have
various linguistic and cultural had the opportunity to play with teammates
settings. who came from foreign countries to play at
Seton Hill. I am currently playing with two
girls from Catalonia and a girl from Paris,
France. During the time I have played with
these international student-athletes, I have
learned so much about their culture as well
as their respective languages. For instance,
I had the opportunity to learn first-hand
about the struggles occurring between
Catalonia and Spain; a cultural subject I
would know nothing about if I was not
fortunate enough to play basketball with
foreign teammates.
2.2 Use time, place, and social X In SPY 223 (Lifespan Development), I was
change as frameworks for given the assignment to watch a
analyzing social developments documentary on the lives of three different
from multiple disciplinary teenagers. I was tasked with explaining
perspectives how the way they were raised influenced
their adolescent development. Being that
the three teenagers were all raised with
different disciplinary figures, different
economic backgrounds, and different
lifestyles, the way they developed to
transition to young adulthood was very
interesting. Each adolescent grew into
adulthood with different levels of social
skills and academic achievement based on
their upbringing. It was intriguing to see
how different frameworks can construct
different developmental attributes in
adolescents.
4.2 Apply Catholic social X In SLA 150 (Faith, Religion & Society), I was
teaching to the analysis of asked to explore the potential impact Catholic
contemporary social issues. social teaching may have on racial injustice. I
concluded that Catholic social teaching
acknowledges that every human life is precious,
no matter the race, ethnicity, sexuality, or
religion of a person. It is important that I not
only had the opportunity to learn about Catholic
social teaching but also can apply the teachings
to contemporary social issues because of the
continued social injustices occurring in our
society.
4.3 Explain the value of X In SLA 150 (Faith, Religion & Society), I was
diverse spiritual and was tasked with researching the similarities
religious perspectives. between the teachings of Jesus Christ and
Muhammad. Writing this paper helped to teach
me the value of understanding and finding
likeness in contrasting religious perspectives.
This assignment opened my mind to the
complexities of different religious teachings and
has allowed me the chance to compare different
religions. Learning the principles of different
religions and spiritual perspectives is important
to me because it better enables me to understand
and sympathize with those around me; it also
helps to reduce fear and intolerance.
4.4 Integrate the action of X In SLA 400 (Senior Integrative Seminar), our
charity with the virtue of class completed a justice project. For our
justice project, we chose to support the Westmoreland
Community Action Program. This organization
works to help those families in the community
who are struggling financially, specifically
single-income or low income families. The goal
of working with this organization was to help
improve the standard of living for those
struggling financially in the surrounding area by
collecting non-perishable food items, hygienic
products, clothing items, diapers, and other
necessities. We also chose to take action on
campus by writing inspirational and uplifting
messages on notecards and rocks for the Seton
Hill population to see. We hoped that these
messages would help better the mental health of
those walking around campus.

community. As a part of the Greensburg

community service and civic engagements
fosters community development and
encourages future ethical behavior.
