With an ever growing number of older people, aging has become an
important concern in many countries around the world. What is more, youth-

negative stereotypes of old age. How would you define old age? What are the
pleasures and perils of aging? How can we improve the lives of elderly people
helping them to make the most of these potentially enjoyable and productive
years of their lives?

Browse the Internet and find quotes about ageism. Read out the quotes you like the most
and explain why you have chosen them.
Age has no reality except in the physical world. The essence of a human being is
resistant to the passage of time
Gabriel Garcia Marquez
It's paradoxical that the idea of living a long life appeals to everyone, but the idea of
getting old doesn't appeal to anyone
Andy Rooney
What age do you consider to be old? We posed that question to millennials in this social
experiment and asked them to show us what “old” looks like. Then we introduced them to
some real “old” people. Watch what happens when folks let go of their outdated beliefs and
embrace the idea that aging is not about decline - it’s about growth.
