Good evening! This is another edition of ‘Oxford News’. Today we
have three important pieces of news.
The police arrested a man near the bus station this morning. The
man’s name is Christopher Lambert and he’s 35 years old. He’s not
from Oxford. He’s from Liverpool but at the moment, he’s at the local
police station. Why? Well, Mr Lambert stole a backpack, took the
mobile phone and wallet and then dropped the backpack in an alley.
He also pushed a police officer and insulted him.
There was an important fire in a local supermarket this morning.
It started at about 8. At that time, there were no people there but a
neighbour phoned 911. Now detectives are investigating the cause
of the fire.
Something unusual happened in Sommerset School this morning.

Hello. My name’s Mark Lane. I’m Ronald’s son. I’m very happy because
my dad won the lottery but I’m also very happy because he made a
very important decision. We are helping poor people in our village.
My mum and dad visited the local hospital this morning. They walked
through the different wards. The director explained to them that
the hospital needs new beds and medicines. My parents also visited
the secondary school in the village. They walked into the library and
the classrooms. The school needs computers and a new science
laboratory. My father studied in this school when he was a teenager,
so he was annoyed to see there were no computers. He talked to
Mr Blake, the headmaster, and promised him to buy twenty computers
for the school. We are all very happy, really.
