Q.1- The strength coefficient= 550 MPa and strain Hardening exponent= 0.22 for a
certain metal. During a forming operation, the final true strain that the metal
experiences= 0.85. Determine the flow stress at this strain and the average flow stress
that the metal experienced during the operation.

Q.2- A metal has a flow curve with strength coefficient= 850MPa and strain hardening
coefficient= 0.30. A tensile specimen of the metal with gage length= 100mm is stretched
to a length= 157mm. Determine the flow stress at the new length and average flow
stress that the metal has been subjected to during deformation.

Q.3 The length of a low carbon steel bar is doubled in a forming process, what is the
true sliding strain for this bar.

Q4. Calculate the bite angle when rolling plates 12mm thick using work rolls 600mm
diameter and reducing the thickness by 3mm.

Q.5. A strip with cross sectional area 150mm X 4.5mm is being rolled with 20%
reduction of area using 450mm diameter rollers. Find the angle subtended by the
deformation zone at the roll centre. (in radian)
