we are from group 2 and today will be presenting regarding


Netflix and its marketing norms. My name is athirah binti jamaludin and im the group leader of
this team. As fyi, Afeef hanis and mizan will be presenting for qs 1 followed by me, izzul and
amal for qs 2 and lastly will be marsya tilahi and hidayah who will be presenting for qs 3. We
shall start with afeef for the intro of Netflix.

Now Im going to present for qs 2 which is regarding marketing strategy of Netflix in malaysia
followed by izzul and amal.

Nowadays, we can’t deny the fact that the majority of Malaysian households subscribe to Netflix
right? and this figure is anticipated to increase further this year and in the next years. The
product is so nicely developed that a lot of people remain captivated in the information they
provide. The growth of its website is one of the marketing methods that Netflix has effectively
executed in Malaysia to attract customers.

In this context, Netflix's website offers a user-friendly interface that allows consumers to
evaluate TV episodes and movies, which is then used by Netflix's algorithm to propose more
content that they might love. They have improved each and every page of the website for
enhanced consumer experience through onsite optimization. They have structured their website
for content by title, actor's name, or even director's name to simply get in the hearts of
customers.

In relating to this, Netflix has also carefully constructed their mobile UX so that navigational
features fit perfectly on the screen of their customers’ phone. Here, the categories on the top
have been compressed into “Series”, “Films” and “Categories”. They introduced plenty of
personalization features to their website with clean appearances regardless of the platform
you're using by employing the top website development services.

Other than that, Netflix strategic alliances with entertainment and production companies is also
one of their marketing strategy in Malaysia.

Netflix and Astro, Malaysia's pay-TV providers have agreed to collaborate, bringing Netflix's
streaming service on Astro's platform. The collaboration with Netflix strengthens Astro's
successful strategy of positioning itself as an aggregator of streaming services to supplement its
strong domestic/vernacular programming. In this matter, the partnership allows Netflix and Astro
subscriptions to be under a single bill, hence providing easy access for payment at the best
value.
The Netflix-Astro deal works the same with Disney+ Hotstar, whereby customers can still
subscribe directly to Netflix without Astro, while existing Astro customers who are not
subscribed to Netflix will get an attractive discount for Netflix streaming services. This means
that Netflix use this type of marketing strategy in order to reach emerging markets easily and
also make it accessible to its existing user base.

Primework studios: Other than that, Netflix has partnered with Primeworks Studios, Malaysia's
top content production firm, to enable Malaysian customers to watch their beloved local films
and series on its platform. With its tie-up with Primeworks Studios, Netflix members in Malaysia
are now able to start streaming the Malay feature film such as KL Zombi plus popular drama
series Hati Perempuan that are also available on its platform. Not to mention that the customers
are able to watch the best of local storytelling through TV series and feature movies as well.
Netflix also announced that it is pleased to bring together the top filmmaking and storytelling
talents from Asia in one place.
