Indolence Of the Filipino Reaction Paper

By: Christine Joy De Guzman 301N

When we discuss indolence, we are referring to Filipinos' tendency toward idleness.

Although the majority of Filipinos in our society are diligent workers, we are all aware that many

of them are becoming irresponsible. Furthermore, I do not believe that the Filipino people are lazy

because we are a hardworking and independent nation. And others of us labor abroad only to

support our families in poverty, particularly to meet their basic requirements for clothing, shelter,

and food.

And because so many Filipinos worked extremely hard only to provide their kids with a

respectable life and an appropriate education. However, some people lack self-determination and

are apathetic in their pursuit of their objectives. As a result, a lot of Filipinos who are lazy choose

to just adhere to social norms. as the correct rubbish disposal and the traffic laws. This implies

that we tend to be autonomous, or in other words, lazy, despite the clear directions. Filipinos

occasionally have a tendency to be lazy due to the poor state of our national economy. They are

lackadaisical in trying to solve their issues. Because of this, many of us have been persuaded to

engage in harmful behaviors like kidnapping, drug abuse, addiction, teenage pregnancies, and

giving up on education in an effort to blend in and join a group. Being forced to stand against

these negative influences is truly the most miserable experience a Filipino can have. The fact that

Filipinos are hospitable to other people and who work hard in the hot sun, like farmers, is

something about which I must be proud.

We have nothing without them. Additionally, overseas Filipino workers, often known as

OFWs, are forced to abandon their families and experience hardships in a foreign nation.

Nevertheless, there are others who are unaffected by how outsiders treated Filipinos and stand

their ground. They are adamant that the Filipinos are what make them what they are, and they

just know how to make their own lives easier. I'm pleased to be a Filipino for this reason.
