XI Observation Physics
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the session students will be able to
understand the terms inertia, momentum and unbalanced force
understand and apply newton’s first law
state newton’s second law
understand and apply newton’s third law
Learning objectives:
To make the students competent in the following concepts:
Inertia
Momentum
Newton’s laws of motion
Applications of laws
Starter:
Teacher asks the students to recite a rhyme and make the relevant movements and jestures
Previous knowledge:
What is kinematics and dynamics?
What are the equations of kinematics?
Resources used:
Black board, Balloons, Balls, Glass, Card board, Straw, Thread
Introductory activity:
Teacher gives an activity so as to make the students to understand that there are different
types of motions, and she announces that the lesson is about Laws of Motions.
Main Concepts:
Inertia
Newton’s first law
Momentum
Newton’s second law
Newton’s third law
Group Activity:
Students are asked to applying a force to change the objects state by
Moving a table
Tapping a ball on the floor
Pushing the wall
Role Play: To find out the law of motion which is involved in each activity
Individual Activity:
Teacher gives balloon to all the students and ask them to blow air into it . She ask them to
release the balloon and ask them to observe the direction of the balloon and air.
Cross curricular Links:
Mathematics: Calculation of Newton’s second law using differentiation method
Geography: The movement of rocket in the atmosphere and space
Key competencies:
Collaboration skill, communication, and critical thinking.
Assessment:
Worksheet.
Recapitulation :
State Newton’s first second and third law.
Extended Learning:
Teacher asks the student to browse the net and collect different kinds of activities and
the laws of motion involved in it.
