There are many reasons why women decide to have an abortion —

rape, poor health or abnormal development of the unborn child.

Christy Zink, in “A True Picture of the Women Who Face Late-term

Abortion,” describes a heartbreaking decision made by a couple whose
son was not developing correctly. Half of his brain was missing, and if
he survived, he would live with continuous seizures and pain.

There are many women who abort for medical reasons. Zink writes,
“We are not reckless, ruthless creatures. Our hearts hurt each day for
our losses.”

Abortion may be OK when the fetus and mother face a life-or-death

situation, but abortion is never an answer for unwanted pregnancies.

These days, the gift of pregnancy has become unappreciated. Women

do not practice safe sex, which leaves them at risk of getting pregnant.
What happens when they actually do get pregnant?

Abortion is never the answer. It is killing an unborn human. An

unborn baby’s heart begins to beat 22 days after fertilization, and at
week eight, the baby starts to respond to touch and can feel pain.
Imagine when his or her legs are being torn out, and then the rest of
his or her body is being slowly detached by a metal tong.

People tend to forget that unborn babies have feelings just like
everyone else. To prevent abortion from happening, women can
always use protection, and make wiser decisions. Think twice. Save
lives.
