Introduction

The NSTP-CWTS students need to understand the Provision of the Phil. Constitution, known
the meaning of Preamble.

Intended Learning Outcomes

a. Discuss specific provisions of the Philippine Constitution


b. Know the meaning of a Preamble
c. Illustrate the relevance of preamble in our present time.

Discussion

PHILIPPINE CONSTITUTION

Since June 12, 1898, Proclamation of Independence, there have been a total of six(6) Philippine
Constitution. Below is the evolution of the constitution:
1. Malolos Constitution (1898-1901)
2. Philippine Organic Act of 1902 & Philippine Autonomy Act of 1916 ( 1902-1935)
3. Commonwealth and Third Republic/1935 Constitution ( 1935-1943 & 1945-1972)
4. Japanese Sponsored Republic/Second Republic/1943 Constitution ( 1943-1945)
5. Martial Law Constitution/1973 Constitution ( 1973-1986)
6. Freedom Constitution/1987 Constitution ( 1987- to present)

Section 1. The State shall protect and promote the right of all citizens to quality education at all
levels, and shall take appropriate steps to make such education accessible to all. (5) Provide
adult citizens, the disabled, and out-of-school youth with training in civics, vocational efficiency,
and other skills.

The Philippine Constitution is important because it protects our rights.It enables us to


have justice and live a beautiful life. It helps us to know our limitations and the right things we
should do in order for us to become a good citizen. We will know how to protect ourselves from
enemies.

PREAMBLE

We, the sovereign Filipino people, imploring the aid of Almighty God, in order to build a just and
humane society and establish a Government that shall embody our ideals and aspirations, promote the
common good, conserve and develop our patrimony, and secure to ourselves and our posterity the
blessings of independence and democracy under the rule of law and a regime of truth, justice, freedom,
love, equality, and peace, do ordain and promulgate this Constitution.
