METHOD STATEMENT ON TREATMENT OF CONCRETE COLD AND JOINT AT SH1

STEP 1: The Concrete surface shall be made rough by chipping off all loose debris and
smooth surfaces to expose the coarse aggregates

STEP 2: Thorough cleaning using clean water and brushing off all loose concrete particles
and debris to ensure the surface is ready to receive concrete mortar

STEP3: Apply cement mortar (slurry) on surface of ‘old concrete’ shortly before applying
the ‘new concrete' and mechanically vibrate.

STEP 4: To ensure the concrete is applied in continuous pour until the joint is completely
covered and sealed in ‘new concrete’.
