EXPERIMENT NO.

6 TRUE SOLUTION,
COLLOIDS, AND SUSPENSION

In conclusion, True Solution, Suspension, and Colloid are all mixtures that contain
two or more combined elements or compounds, and they can all classify as either
homogenous or heterogeneous. Moreover, these three solutions have similar
characteristics, but each has a defining trait that sets them apart.

True Solution is a homogenous mixture whose particles does not settle

nor can be separated using the filtration process. An example of this would be
sugar dissolved in water. On the other hand,

Suspension is a heterogeneous mixture wherein the particles do not

dissolve and remains suspended throughout the solution. Because of this, it is
possible to see the particles scattered in the mixture. Chalk dissolved in water
would be one example of Suspension. Lastly,

Colloid is also a heterogeneous mixture like Suspension where its

particles are suspended in the mixture but cannot be seen with the naked eye. Its
particles also cannot be separated using the filtration process. An example of
Colloid would be Milk.
