DIMENSIONS, WEIGHTS, LENGTHS, DEFECTS & END FINISHES. Linepipe shall be furnished in the outside diameters and wall thickness specified in the schedule of requirement such dimensions shall conform to Table 9 of API Spec SL, 45th Edition. 4) Diameter: Tolerance for Diameter at Pipe Ends shall generally be in accordance with Table 10 (API Spec SL 45th Edition). Diameter Tolerance shal be obtained over 4 inch length from end of pipe and be considered inclusive of ali type of voriation allowable under Annex "C" Clause C.2.3 of API Spec 5L. Weight vA Clause 9.11.2 810.2.9 of API Spec SL shall apply. length Pipe shall be supplied in random lengths of 40 ft. (12.2 meters), maximum length 43 ft. (13.1 meter), minimum length, 23.00 fi. (7 meters) and average length 36 ft. (11 meters), with not more than 10% of pipe falling below length of 36 ft. (11 meters). The requirement shall apply to each shipment whatever the load of shipment. Exception |: Length of individual tender item is less that 500 meters: The length of each pipe supplied against each item of the SOR should be as close as possible to standard length i.e. 12,1 meters or equal to the length specified in the SOR against SOR items, however, where the tender quantity is such that one length of each item has t6 be of smaller length to meet the tender quantity, the lengths should be such that no pipe against each item is less than 7 meter length. Exception II: In case, length is specified against a specified item in the SOR, the above shall not apply for the specific item and the length mentioned in SOR shall prevail. Straightness Pipe shall be randomly checked for straightness, deviation from a straight line shall not exceed 0.1% of the length. Measurement may be made using a taut siting or wire from end to end along tne side of the pipe, measuring the greatest deviation as mentioned in Clause 9.11.3.4 of API Spec 454 Edition. Jointers tointers shall not be accepiable. PIPE ENDS Pipe ends shall be beveled for welding as per Clause.9.12.5.2 API Spec SL 45* Edition requirements ie. beveled to an angle of 30 degrees plus 5 degrees minus zero degrees, measured from a line drawn Perpendicular to the axis of the pipe and with a root face of 1/18" plus/minus 1/32. The manufacturer/supplier shall fake all reasonable precautions to minimize recumiing imperfections, damage and defects. 15 HYDROSTATIC TESTS 7.1 Pipe shail be subjected to a mill inspection hydrostatic test os Per Clause 10.26 of API Specification SL 45 Exition. MARKING AND COATING 10.1 Pipe shall be marked in accordance to Clause 11 of API Spec SL 45” Edition All such marking shall be put on both the inside and outside surfaces at the ends of each pipe. INSPECTION OF DOCUMENTS and INSPECTION FREQUENCY Inspection af documents will be as per Clause 10.1.2.1 for PSLI pipe. Wherever the specific requirements afer from API specification SL Grade-245L r 8, the specific requirements shall prevail. 1. MATERIAL |. The composition of pipe furnished to these specifications as determined by heat analysis shall conform to the chemical requirements of grade 245L or B material for Seamless or seam welded non expanded or cold expanded. HEAT TREATMENT For electric welded pipe, the weld seam shall be heat treated or the pipe shall be processed in such a ‘manner that no un-tempered martinsite remains as laid down in API SL Standards. Confirmation to this effect shall be made by subjecting to metallographic examination, atleast once pper operating shift plus one for each heat if coils of different heats are used during the operating shift for the same thickness and diameter of the pipe. The manufacturer shall replace such defective and sub-standard pipes at its own risk and cost. ii) The inspectors representing SNGPL shall have unrestricted excess atalltimes while work on the contract of SNGPL is being performed, to all parts of the manufacturer's works and take photographs wherever necessary that will concern the manufacture of pipe ordered. The ‘manufacturer shall afford the inspector all reasonable facilities to satisfy the inspectgr that the pipe is being manufactured in accordance with this specification. - ‘The manufacturer is responsible for complying with all of the provisions of this specification. SNGPL may make any investigation necessary to assure compliance by the manufacturer and may reject any material that does not comply with this specification. Data ofthe above under production pipe should be available with the manufacturer. 6 Marking: ‘Marking shall be in accordance to ISO 4437. 7- Certification: The manufacturer shall furnish with each lot or shipment at the time of delivery, nwo copies of certification that such lot or shipment of pipes meet all the requirement of this specification.
