NET CONTENT DECLARATION
is defined as the amount of the consumable product of
the trade item contained in a package, as declared on
the label, which may include: net weight, volume, count,
units, etc.
THE FDA REQUIRES THAT THE NET
CONTENT DECLARATION MUST BE MADE IN
THE FOLLOWING MATTER:

FOR LIQUID FOODS, BY VOLUME;

FOR SOLID FOODS, BY WEIGHT EXCEPT THAT
WHEN SUCH FOODS ARE SOLD BY NUMBER, A
DECLARATION OF COUNT SHALL BE MADE;
FOR SEMI-SOLID OR VISCOUS FOODS, EITHER
WEIGHT OR VOLUME.
WHAT IS AN INGREDIENT?
INGREDIENT MEANS ANY SUBTANCE, INCLUDING A
FOD ADDICTIVE, USED AS A COMPONENT IN THE
MANUFACTURE OR PREPARATION OF FOOD AND
PRESENT IN THE FINAL PRODUCT (IN ITS ORIGINAL
OR MODIFIED FORM).

SAIL IN COCONUT MILK
INGREDIENTS: SNAIL, COCONUT MILK, SALT, GARLIC, SPICES
HOW SHALL THE NAME AND ADDRESS
OF THE MANUFACTURER BE LABELLED?
THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE MANUFACTURER,
REPACKER, PACKER, IMPORTER, TRADER OR
DISTRIBUTOR OF THE FOOD SHALL BE DECLARED ON
THE LABEL OF LOCALLY MANUFACTURED
PRODUCTS. Examples:

WHAT IS A LOT IDENTIFICATION?
A lot number is an identification number assigned to a
particular quantity or lot of material from a single
manufacturer. Lot identification can typically be found
on the outside of packaging.
 WHAT IS A BARCODE?
An article numbering system for increased productivity.
 WHAT IS A NUTRITION
DECLARATION?
This is called ‘nutrition declaration or nutrition facts' and must
appear directly on the package or on a label attached to it. The
nutrition declaration must include the following information:
