THE INTRODUCTORY RITES

Commentator: We are gathered here today as God’s people to

witness and celebrate the marriage of Mark Gil & Toni
Marie. The beauty of the Sacrament of Matrimony
exalts and makes divine the human love which is a
noble element in our lives. Once Mark & Toni are
united through this Sacrament, they will no longer love
each other merely as two human beings. Their love will
be transfigured and will participate in God’s own love.
This love which attracts them to each other and moves
them to give themselves up for the other’s sake will be
made divine.

Let us then offer our praise to God for having led them
together in His love. Let us pray for Mark Gil & Toni
Marie because we all know that their joy will be
punctuated with sorrow; their smiles will be lined with
tears. Let us pray that the sorrow and the tears will
never pull them apart. Rather, let us pray that every
sorrow will only blend their love closer together, that
every tear will only deepen their love for each other and
for God.

all that is in it. He did create birds and trees, flowers,

us unite our hearts and minds with them as they
exchange vows in this celebration of the sacrament of
the Holy Matrimony.

We have come together in the presence of God to

bless the union of Mark Gil & Toni Marie in Holy
matrimony. The bond and covenant of marriage was
established by God in creation, and our Lord Jesus
Christ adorned this manner of life by His presence and
first miracle, at a wedding in Cana of Galilee. It signifies
to us the mystery of the union between Christ and His

 Church, and Holy Scripture commends it to be honored
among all people.
The union of husband and wife in heart, body and mind
is intended by God for their mutual joy; for the help and
comfort given one another in prosperity and adversity;
and when it is God’s will, for the procreation of children
and their nurture in the knowledge and love of the Lord.
Therefore, marriage is not to be entered into
unadvisedly and lightly, but reverently, deliberately and
in accordance with the purpose for which it was
instituted by God.
Into this holy union Mark & Toni now come to be joined.
If any of you can show just cause why they may not
lawfully be married, speak now; or else for ever hold
your peace.
Then the Celebrant says to Mark Gil & Toni Marie
I require and charge you both, here in the presence of
God and His people, that if either of you know any
reason why you may not be united in marriage lawfully,
and in accordance with God’s word, you do now
confess it.
THE DECLARATION OF CONSENT
Celebrant: Toni Marie, will you have this man to be your husband,
to live together in the covenant of marriage? Will you
love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness
and in health, forsaking all others, be faithful to him as
long as you both shall live?
BRIDE: I will, by God’s help.

that all their work as husband and wife may be begun,
continued, and ended in Him, glorifying His Holy Name.

Sponsors: To the Almighty and Eternal God, we draw our hearts
to Him. We pray that He may guide our minds, so fill
our imaginations, so control our wills, that we may be
wholly His as we dedicate ourselves to Him by our
ministry to Mark & Toni as their second parents.
And may God uses us, we pray, for all His ways and
purpose, always to His glory and the welfare of His
people especially Mark & Toni. All these we ask
through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
THE PRONOUNCEMENT
Celebrant: Now that you have given yourselves to each other by
the solemn vows you have exchanged before God and
this people in the Holy Matrimony, I, the Rev’d Fr.
Jeffrey M. Guligado, a minister of God pronounce you
Mark & Toni as husband and wife.
And the blessing of God, the Father, the Son, and the
Holy Spirit be upon you and remain with now and
forever.

EXHORTATION TO THE SPONSORS
Celebrant: My beloved Sponsors. In this sacrament of marriage
you have become the second parents of Mark Gil &
Toni Marie Guide them in the way of truth and holiness
that they may become exemplary Christians and law-
abiding citizens. In all their efforts to establish a home
full of love, peace and justice bide them, with
dedication and humility, inspiring models and
encouraging leaders. In moments of trials, crisis, and
desperation, be with them with your wisdom and
understanding.
Stand behind them when their home is threatened.
Work for reconciliation when there is division. Show

Mark & Toni, who come to you seeking Your blessing,

steadfast love they may honor and keep the promises
and vows that they make; through Jesus Christ, our
Savior, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the
Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

THE WEDDING RINGS

He stretched out His arms upon the cross, and offered
Himself, in obedience to Your will, a perfect sacrifice for
the whole world.
On the night He was handed over to suffering and
death, our Lord Jesus Christ took bread, and when He
had given thanks to You, He broke it and gave it to His
disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is my body, which is
given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.”
After supper He took the cup of wine, and when He had
given thanks, He gave to them, and said,” Drink this,
all of you, this is my blood of the new covenant, which
is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins,

Therefore, we proclaim the mystery of our faith;
All: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.
Celebrant: We celebrate the memorial of our redemption, O
Father, in the sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving.
Recalling His death, resurrection, and ascension, we
offer these gifts. Sanctify them by Your Holy Spirit to be
the Body of Your Son, the holy food and drink of new
and unending life in Him. Sanctify us also that we may
faithfully receive this Holy Sacrament, and serve You in
unity, constancy, and peace, and at the last day bring
us with all Your saints into the joys of Your eternal
Kingdom.
All this we ask through Your Son Jesus Christ. By Him,
with Him, and in Him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit all
honor and glory is Yours, Almighty Father now and

angels and archangels and with all the company of
heaven, who forever sing this hymn to proclaim the
glory of Your Name.

Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord,

Celebrant: Holy and gracious Father. In Your infinite love You

on I share with you all that I have and may not have. Receive them
as a token of my solemn pledge to dedicate myself to our family, and
to ever seek the blessing of God upon our home and love.
BRIDE: Mark Gil, I take them most willingly together with our noble
pledge to act responsibly for our home. In return, I give
you this flower as a symbol of my vow that from this
moment on, I give you my heart, and with all that I am,
and all that I have, I honor you, promising you to be
loving and responsible wife, in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

you this garment as one body, united in the bond of
love. With all purity, humbly commit yourselves into a
new relationship with God as His sacrament of
solidarity with the world, the people, and creation. As
we put on this veil, we implore you to wear it unstained
by always keeping the sanctity of this union all
throughout your days like all married couples should
do. Submit yourselves to the will of God. Pattern your
ways to His goodness. Acknowledge His Lordship in
your lives. And carry on the task with gladness in His
sanctifying presence.
People: May you dwell in the shelter of the Most High and abide
in the shadow of the Almighty. May your love for each
other be pure and humble, and ever open to God’s
purpose in your life and the life of the world.

THE CREED
Commentator: Please all kneel as we pray for Mark & Toni
All: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of
heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ His only Leader:
son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the
Holy Spirit and born of Virgin Mary. He suffered under
Pontius Pilate was crucified, died and was buried. He
descended to the dead. On the third day He rose
again, He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the
right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge People:
the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the
Holy Catholic Church, the communion of the saints, the Leader:
forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life

THE PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
The Lighting of candles: People:
Commentator: As we prepare for the prayers of the faithful, Leader:

Commentator: The lighting of the candles symbolizes the beginning
