PSYCHOLOGY

ASSIGNMENT # 01
Q1
ID: Id is the source of all urges. it seeks instant gratification for our
wants.
Example: I was at a supermarket and I was hungry. I took a pack of
biscuits and ate them rather than paying for them at the counter first.
EGO: The ego sees what is right in the situation. it balances the Id
factor.
Example: I was in seventh grade and was sitting in the finals. A fellow
student I did not know asked my help to cheat but I ignored him
because the invigilator had already taken a student's paper and would
most likely have taken mine if I had helped him cheat.
SUPEREGO: Superego is the moral and ethical values taught by our
parents or caregivers.
Example: There was a stall in our school and the worker thought I owed
him money and was giving me money but I decided not to take it
because it was not my money and it would be wrong.
Q2
Denial: I had severe stomach pain but refused to stop eating fast food.
Projection: In an argument when I don't have a counterargument I just
place bizarre allegations about the opposing person.
Sublimation: To overcome the anger issues I decided to go to the gym.
Displacement: Once I was angry I Screamed at top of my lungs in a
plow.
Reaction Formation: When I first moved to Pakistan from Bahrain I
failed my Urdu paper. I had no memory of it until recently my parents
told me.
