The nature’s trash collectors. These birds might not have the cleanest
role to play in our eco system but without them our mother earth
would be pretty stinky and dry. They consume the animals that die in
the wild and keep our environment balanced and clean. They are
pretty social animals and are found in almost every part of the world
except Antarctica and Australia. Mostly seen in groups to hunt down
decaying bodies, there must be a collective noun to address them,
what is it?
The generic term is flock of vultures and the rest pretty much depends
on what the birds are up to, whether they are flying around in
formations, resting on a tree or feeding on animals in the wild. Don’t
worry as in this article we will take you through the collective nouns
for a flock of vulture and help you to know much more about them
Vultures such as the turkey vulture and the black vulture roost
communally all year. These roosts might be semi-permanent
throughout the majority of the year or even for decades. These
roosts can also be seasonal or extremely brief if they are
adjacent to a food supply or are primarily used for migration.
During the mating season, vultures will still roost together, but
they will be considerably more spread out and will roost in
pairs with their spouse.
What is the average number of vultures in a flock?
