Owners Manual
Read this owners manual thoroughly before useINSTRUCTION
This meter is a rectifier type, permanent-magnet moving coil
instrument designed for measurements of DC voltage, AC voltage,
DC current, resistance, diode and decibel.
The meter's operation/storage environment is :
ambient temperature: 0°C ~ 50°C, relative humidity < 85%
A\ WARNING
To avoid possible electric shock or personal injury, follow these
guidelines:
1. Do not use the meter if it is damaged. Before you use the meter,
inspect the case. Pay particular attention to the insulation
surrounding the connectors
2. Inspect the test leads for damaged insulation or exposed metal.
Check the test leads for continuity. Replace damaged test leads
before you use the meter.
3. Do not use the meter if it operates abnormally. Protection may be
impaired. When in doubt, have the meter serviced.
4. Do not operate the meter around explosive gas, vapor, or dust.
5. Do not apply a voltage or current higher than the selected range's
upper limit between terminals.
6. Before use, verify the meter’s operation by measuring a known
voltage.
7. When measuring current, turn off power to the circuit before
connecting the meter to the circuit. Remember to place the meter
1in series with the circuit.
8. When servicing the meter, use only specified replacement parts.
9. Use with caution when working above 30V ac rms, 42V peak, or
60V dc. Such voltages pose a shock hazard.
10.When using the probes, keep your fingers behind the finger guards
on the probes.
11.Connect the black test lead before you connect the red test lead.
When you disconnect test leads, disconnect the red test lead first.
12.Remove the test leads from the meter before you open the back
cover,
13.Do not operate the meter with the back cover or portions of the
case removed or loosened.
CAUTION
To avoid possible damage to the meter or to the equipment under test,
follow these guidelines:
1. Disconnect circuit power and discharge all capacitors before
testing resistance and diode.
2. Use the proper function and range for your measurements.
3. Before measuring current, turn off power to the circuit before
connecting the meter to the circuit.
4. Before rotating the range switch to change functions, disconnect
test leads from the circuit under test.
5. Remove test leads from the meter before opening the meter case.INTRODUCTION

If the magnitude of the voltage to be measured is not known
beforehand, select the highest range first and work down range
by range as needed.
Connect the ret test lead to the positive polarity of the circuit to
be tested and the black one to the negative.
( If the pointer deflects to the left of the scale, reverse the test
leads. )
Read the DCV.A scale (scale B ) referring the Reference
Table.
ACV TEST
1.
Connect the black test lead to the "-COM" jack, and the red test
lead to the "+" jack.
Set the range switch to the desired V~ range position.
If the magnitude of the voltage to be measured is not known
beforehand, select the highest range first and work down range
by range.
Connect the test leads to the circuit to be tested.
Read the corresponding scale referring the Reference Table.DCA TEST
Note: Measurement range: 0~ 0.25A
1. Connect the black test lead to the "-COM" jack, and the red test
lead to the" + "jack.
2. Set the range switch to the desired mA= range position.
If the magnitude of the current to be measured is not known
beforehand, select the highest range first and work down range
by range.
3. Turn off power to the circuit which you will measure.
Discharge all capacitors.
4. Break the circuit path to be measured, connect the red test lead
to the more positive side of the break and the black test lead to
the more negative side of the break.
5. Turn on power to the circuit.
( Note: If the pointer deflects to the left of the scale, turn off power
to the circuit, discharge all capacitors, reverse the test
leads, and then turn on power to the circuit.
6. Read the DCV.A scale ( scale B ) referring the Reference Table.ACV TEST ON OUTPUT TERMINAL
Note: If dc voltage presents in the circuit whose ac voltage you want
to measure, you must use this following procedure so that
correct result of ac voltage measurement can be obtained.
1. Connect the red test lead to the "OUTPUT" jack and the black
test lead to the "-COM" jack.
2. Set the range switch to the desired V~ range position.
If the magnitude of the voltage to be measured is not known
beforehand, select the highest range first and work down range
by range.
3. Connect the test leads to the circuit to be tested.
4. Read the corresponding scale referring the Reference Table.
DIODE TEST
1. Connect the black test lead to the "-COM" jack, and the red test
lead to the " + "jack.
2. Set the range switch to desired range position:
*1K (test current: 0-—150uA), 10 (test current: 0- 15mA),
or *1 (test current: 0 —- 150mA ).
3. Connect the diode to the tester :
For IF ( forward current ) test, connect the black test lead to
the anode of the diode to be measured, and the red test lead to
the cathode of the diode.
For IR ( reverse current ) test, reverse the connections.
4. Read IF or IR on the LI scale ( scale F ) referring the Reference
10Table.
5. Read the forward voltage of the diode on the LV scale ( scale E )
while testing IF.
Read the reverse voltage of the diode on the LV scale ( scale E )
while testing IR.
DECIBEL MEASUREMENT
Decibel is measured in the same way as ACV measurement
reading the dB scale ( scale D ) instead.
For measurement in the ACV 10V range, the dB scale (-10~+22) is
read directly.
If the reading is higher than +22dB, use the 50V, 250V range, and
add a fixed sum of dB to the respective reading as follows:
For ACV 50V range, add 14dB to the reading.
For ACV 250V range, add 28dB to the reading.
Note: When measuring a signal which contains a direct current, use
the " OUTPUT "jack instead of using the " + " jack.
BATTERY AND FUSE REPLACEMENTS
If the pointer can not be set to zero on the scale A by the 0Q adjuster
knob when the range switch is ina Q range and the test leads are
being shorted, you should replace the relevant battery(or batteries ).
If the meter doesn't work, you should replace the fuse.
11To replace batteries or fuse, remove the screw on the back cover,
remove the back cover, replace the batteries or fuse according to
the specified rating. Reinstall the back cover and the screw.
Fuse: F 1A/250V
Batteries: 9V, 6F22 or equivalent, one piece ( for the resistance
measurements in the" *10k" range)
1.5V, AAor equivalent, two pieces ( for resistance
measurements in all ranges except in the " *10k" range )
