Safety precautions to be observed in Laboratory

 A laboratory coat must be worn during practical
sessions
 Shoes covering all of the feet should be worn - no
sandals or canvas
 While working in high voltage area use proper gloves.
 Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes when heating
substances, dissecting, etc.
 Ensure fire extinguisher is available
 Ensure that rubber mat is there while working with
electrical equipment
 Never use lab equipment that you are not approved or
trained by your supervisor to operate.
 Leave your work station clean and in good order before
leaving the laboratory.
 Do work in the presence of supervisor and his guidance
 Never leave an ongoing experiment unattended. 
 Report all accidents, injuries, and breakage of glass or
equipment to staff immediately
 Unauthorized experiments or procedures must not be
attempted.
