lam, a postgraduate in management, joined a well established
organization as a management trainee. Previously, Ikram had has 2 years’ working
experience as. a Management Executive in a small scale- firm.
When Ikram joined the organization, his role as a management trainee was
not explained to him, The first few months on job were relatively stress- free as he wos
enirusted with limited tasks related to his area of expertise- that is, management.
However, he is gradually assigned with various other roles and was required to
coordinate and communicate with diverse groups of workforce. The organizational
members initially to cooperate and behaved rudely toward him. The boss was a
strict taskmaster who gives few orders and instructions. Ikram was scolded for errors
commited by other team members.
Ikram did not give up and used his work experience to cope with the diverse
expectations associated with various roles performed by him as a management
trainee. Ikram learnt to prioritize his work and gave adequate attention to Marketing,Human Resources and Public Relations job performed by him. Ikram continued to
ut his best effort, even though it is not appreciated by others.

tasks from conducting office comespondence, conducting business meetings to
solving the complaints of customers and subordinates. As lime passed, Ikram
became more efficient and perform various roles in increasing effective manner.
But Ikram is married and have two children. Therefore, Ikram was not able to
give sufficient time to his famiy as he devoled most of his lime working, even on
Sundays. His family members thought that he has become a workerholic.
Ikram continued to work day in and day ouf, looking for some kind of
upgrading in educational qualification which will qualify him for a better job with less
taxing work.
